The distortion caused by the wide-angle lens is quite noticeable here. This is evident in the curvature of the trees and posts in the background, as well as the exaggeration of the subject’s features.

For portraiture, this effect is generally not flattering, as demonstrated here. However, it can have its creative uses in certain contexts.
