Demonstration of Technical and Visual Skills:
On the technical side, I feel I have produced a set of images that are sharp, correctly exposed, and well-composed. I deliberately used a shallow depth of field to highlight the primary subject matter, and I incorporated diagonal lines and the rule of thirds in composition where appropriate.
All shots were taken with the same camera and aperture settings, maintaining consistency throughout the series.
Quality of Outcome:
I made a conscious effort to keep the aspect ratio of all the images consistent by carefully composing them within the camera. I believe the set of images works well together, presenting a cohesive visual narrative.
Demonstration of Creativity or Imagination:
Creativity is a challenge for me, and while I feel the images form a cohesive set, I sense there may not be enough diversity between the pictures. As mentioned in my course notes, I’m concerned that the set may feel like a “one-trick pony.” The influence of Gianluca Cosci’s work may have been a bit too dominant, though this was entirely unintentional.
Context:
This assignment represents a significant departure from my usual style of work. I feel that I did not research the theme thoroughly enough, and the idea was somewhat put together on the fly. This may have affected the theme’s development, preventing it from reaching its full potential.
